Dean Street Apartments – London W1
John O’Neill worked with Cushman, Wakefield, Healey & Baker and AEM Architects on the development of prime former office space in Soho into three luxury apartments. Each apartment took up a full floor of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th storeys of a Dean St building with a listed front façade and part-listed rear façade. The 4th floor apartment also boasted a roof terrace with views of St Pauls and the Swiss Re Building (The Gherkin). The scheme entailed stripping out the existing offices (including specially-thickened walls from its former life as a recording studio) and installing all new services, air conditioning, marble bathrooms, solid walnut timber flooring and bespoke kitchen units for each apartment. The 3rd floor apartment underwent a full fit-out and became the showpiece flat for sales of the development. Dean Street was a 16 week construction programme working over TV recording studio which involved adhering to many City of Westminister regulations.
